How Tallinn Card works

The digital Tallinn Card is a sightseeing ticket based on a QR code. You can easily buy the digital card using the Tallinn Card mobile app. Or you can buy it from the Tallinn Card online store and either present the ticket from your smartphone or print it out.
The physical Tallinn Card is a sightseeing ticket on a contactless card. You can buy the physical card from various sales points in Tallinn as well as on ferries arriving in Tallinn.
How it works
How to start
Digital Tallinn Card
- Buy the digital Tallinn Card using the Tallinn Card mobile app or from our online store.
- Choose the type and duration of the card.
- When purchasing the Tallinn Card from the online store, make sure to choose the date you want to start using the card. You do not have to choose the starting date when buying the card from the mobile app.
- If you have bought your Tallinn Card using the mobile app, it will activate and its validity period starts counting down from the first time you use the card. You can start using your Tallinn Card within one year of its purchase.
- If you have bought a pdf-ticket from the online store, the card will activate and its validity period starts on the date indicated on the ticket counting down from the first time you use it.
Physical Tallinn Card
- Buy your Tallinn Card from the nearest sales point.
- Write down the date you started using the card on the back of your card. You can start using your Tallinn Card within one year of its purchase.
- Tallinn Card will activate and its validity period starts counting down from the first time you use it.
How to use it
Digital Tallinn Card
- To register your visit, present the QR code on your digital Tallinn Card to the ticket seller.
- On public transport, register your digital Tallinn Card by placing the card against the lower screen of the registration device located at the front entrance of the vehicle. Note: if you use a mobile wallet, turn off NFC in your phone’s settings before registering your digital Tallinn Card on public transport. Otherwise, the registration device will sell you a single ticket in addition.
- To obtain a discount or a free gift in a restaurant, store or elsewhere, present your Tallinn Card before placing your order or making your purchase.
Physical Tallinn Card
- To register your visit, present your Tallinn Card to the ticket seller.
- On public transport, register your Tallinn Card by placing the card against the screen of the registration device.
- To obtain a discount or a free gift in a restaurant, store or elsewhere, present your Tallinn Card before placing your order or making your purchase.
Useful tips
- Adults with a Tallinn Card can take two children under the age of 7 to museums and sights for free.
- Plan your visit using the Tallinn Card’s attraction list, which can be found in the mobile app, on the website or in the booklet that you will receive after buying a physical card. The mobile app allows you to make a list of your favourite attractions, find nearby tourist attractions and get travel directions.
- Before visiting museums or tourist attractions, make sure to check the opening hours from the mobile app or online.

Holidays
Most of Tallinn’s museums and sights are closed on public holidays. Many also close their doors three hours earlier than usual on the day before four major public holidays: on 23 February, 22 June and 23 & 31 December. At the same time, some places remain open on public holidays. More details can be found on the websites of the specific museums and sights.

Terms of purchase and use
1. Terms
1.1 Buyer – a person who purchases a Tallinn Card through the online shop.
1.2 User – a person who uses the Tallinn Card and whose name is entered by the buyer in the online shop and is therefore linked with their Tallinn Card.
1.3 Terms of purchase and use – the terms of use of the Tallinn Card and online shop established by the seller.
1.4 Agreement – the purchase and use terms concluded by the buyer and user when purchasing the Tallinn Card, or the terms of purchase and use accepted by the buyer at hand.
1.5 Tallinn Card – a digital QR ticket that entitles the buyer to utilise all Tallinn Card offers.
1.6 Seller – Tallinn Strategic Management Office, registry code 75023817, address Vabaduse väljak 7, 15199 Tallinn, Estonia, tel. +372 640 4757. The seller issues the Tallinn Card and organises its sale.
1.7 Online shop – the internet domain that hosts the online shop, located on the address tallinncard.ee.
1.8 Tallinn Card partner – an entrepreneur or city or state institution that allows the buyer, upon presentation of a Tallinn Card, to consume a product or service for free or at a reduced price in a museum, attraction, excursion, entertainment facility, cafe, restaurant, shop, etc. operated by them and is responsible for all circumstances related to their products and/or services.
1.2 User – a person who uses the Tallinn Card and whose name is entered by the buyer in the online shop and is therefore linked with their Tallinn Card.
1.3 Terms of purchase and use – the terms of use of the Tallinn Card and online shop established by the seller.
1.4 Agreement – the purchase and use terms concluded by the buyer and user when purchasing the Tallinn Card, or the terms of purchase and use accepted by the buyer at hand.

1.8 Tallinn Card partner – an entrepreneur or city or state institution that allows the buyer, upon presentation of a Tallinn Card, to consume a product or service for free or at a reduced price in a museum, attraction, excursion, entertainment facility, cafe, restaurant, shop, etc. operated by them and is responsible for all circumstances related to their products and/or services.
2. Terms of purchase and use
2.1 The terms of purchase and use apply to the relationship between the seller and the buyer and govern the use of the online shop and the purchase and use of the Tallinn Card.
2.2 The terms of purchase and use enter into force at the moment the buyer electronically confirms acceptance. Upon acceptance of the terms of purchase and use, the agreement between the seller and the buyer is considered concluded.
2.3 If any provision of the terms of purchase and use turns out to be wholly or partially invalid or inapplicable, the validity of the remaining provisions will not be affected.
2.4 The terms of purchase and use are compiled in Estonian and translated into other languages. Any disputes are resolved using the Estonian version of the terms.
2.5 The basis for using the online shop is the legislation of the Republic of Estonia. Disputes arising during use are resolved through negotiations. Complaints should be submitted through the Consumer Disputes Committee at the e-mail address avaldus@komisjon.ee or the online dispute resolution platform at http://ec.europa.eu/odr. If a desired result is not achieved in any of the aforementioned ways, the dispute will be resolved in Harju County Court.
2.6 The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply to the purchase of the Tallinn Card.

3. Rights, obligations and responsibilities of the buyer
3.1 The buyer undertakes to accept and comply with the terms of purchase and use.
3.2 The buyer confirms that they are an able natural person at least 18 years of age (a person under 18 years of age confirms that they have the consent of a legal representative and the necessary funds to purchase a ticket via the mobile application) or a representative of a legal person who has all the rights to undertake obligations on the mobile application on behalf of this legal person.
3.3 The usage dates of the Tallinn Card can be modified and the purchase can be cancelled within one (1) year from the date of purchase. Only an unused Tallinn Card may be cancelled or modified. To do this, contact the seller by e-mail at tallinncard@visittallinn.ee. When cancelling a purchase, the buyer will be responsible for any possible bank fees.
3.4 Buyers should note that some Tallinn Card partners are closed on public holidays, Mondays and Tuesdays. Depending on the season, the opening times of Tallinn Card partners may also change. The buyer is responsible for checking the opening hours of the product or service offered by the Tallinn Card partner.
3.5 Tallinn Cards purchased through the online shop are delivered to the buyer’s e-mail address. If the buyer has not received a confirmation letter of purchase and Tallinn Card(s) with an invoice, they should send an email explaining the problem to tallinncard@visittallinn.ee.
3.6 When making a purchase, the buyer must submit only valid information.

4.5 The seller has the right to change the terms of purchase and use. All changes will take effect after publication on the website.
4.6 The seller is not responsible for changes in Tallinn Card partners’ opening hours, ticket prices, etc.
4.7 The seller is not responsible for the content or organisation of a Tallinn Card partner’s service, display and/or event. The corresponding obligations rest with the Tallinn Card partner.

6. Intellectual property
The seller has exclusive rights to the software, databases and design of the Tallinn Card.
7. Personal data protection
7.1 For the purpose of providing the service, the following personal data of the buyer are processed: first name and surname, e-mail address, country of residence, purchase time and type of ticket(s) purchased.
7.2 For the purpose of providing the service, the following personal data of the user are processed: first name and surname, dates of Tallinn Card use and the Tallinn Card partners visited using the Tallinn Card, including visitation times.
7.3 The personal data of the buyer and the user(s) are provided by the buyer in the online shop when purchasing the Tallinn Card (except data related to the use of the card) and the personal data is used by:
7.3.1 Trinidad Wiseman OÜ for the processing of orders, Ridango AS and the seller for the registration of payments and transmission of data and the buyer for delivering the Tallinn Card – the first name and surname of the buyer, their e-mail address, country of residence, time of the purchase, type of ticket bought, the first name and surname of the user(s) and the dates on which they use the Tallinn Card.
7.3.2 Ridango AS for the processing of orders and transmission of data to Trinidad Wiseman OÜ – the first name and surname of the buyer, their e-mail address, country of residence, type of ticket bought, time of the purchase, the first name and surname of the user(s) and the dates on which they use the Tallinn Card;
7.3.3 The seller for solving problems related to the purchase, delivery or use of the ticket, asking for feedback, responding to problems and questions raised in the feedback – the first name and surname of the buyer, e-mail address of the buyer, time of purchase, types of tickets bought, the first name and surname of the user(s), dates of use, Tallinn Card partners visited using the Tallinn Card, including visitation times;
7.3.4 The seller for compiling statistics for the Tallinn Card – the country of residence of the buyer, who will remain anonymous in the processing of this data;
7.3.5 Tallinn Card partners for validating the Tallinn Card before providing a service – the first name and surname of the buyer, types of tickets purchased and dates on when they use the Tallinn Card;
7.4 Payment for the Tallinn Card takes place outside the online shop in the secure EveryPay AS payment environment. The seller, Trinidad Wiseman and Ridango have no access to the client’s bank or credit card information.
7.4.1 The seller does not process payment data unless the buyer requests assistance in resolving issues related to the purchase of a Tallinn Card and forwards the bank payment order to the seller.
7.5 When providing the service, the basis for personal data processing is the Tallinn Card purchase agreement, i.e. these terms of purchase and use. By purchasing the Tallinn Card, the buyer consents to the seller asking for feedback on the service and compiling statistics on the use of the purchased Tallinn Card.
7.6 Pursuant to § 12 (1) of the Accounting Act, personal data are stored in the ticket sales system for seven years, after which the data is anonymised and stored for the purpose of Tallinn Card statistics.
7.7 Personal data is processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation, Personal Data Protection Act and Public Information Act and based on the data protection terms of Tallinn City.
7.2 For the purpose of providing the service, the following personal data of the user are processed: first name and surname, dates of Tallinn Card use and the Tallinn Card partners visited using the Tallinn Card, including visitation times.
7.3 The personal data of the buyer and the user(s) are provided by the buyer in the online shop when purchasing the Tallinn Card (except data related to the use of the card) and the personal data is used by:
7.3.1 Trinidad Wiseman OÜ for the processing of orders, Ridango AS and the seller for the registration of payments and transmission of data and the buyer for delivering the Tallinn Card – the first name and surname of the buyer, their e-mail address, country of residence, time of the purchase, type of ticket bought, the first name and surname of the user(s) and the dates on which they use the Tallinn Card.
