E-scooters
You can rent and see the available e-scooters near you through various mobile apps including:
The scooter rental service is restricted to users aged 18 and older. Before finishing your ride, make sure that you have parked the e-scooter within the provider’s service zone or you risk a fine.
E-scooters are not available all year round. Depending on the weather conditions, rental companies usually pause their services from late autumn through winter.
Park your bike
You can park your bike for free at
Bikeep parking stands in the Old Town and city centre. All parking areas have video surveillance. Bicycles can be locked and unlocked with an app (for
iOS and
Android) or a
public transport fare card (Ühiskaart) that has been registered online.
Bikeep smart bike stands are located:
- On Vabaduse väljak (Freedom square)
- In front of the Tourist Information Centre (Niguliste Street)
- On the corner of Vana-Viru and Viru Streets
- Next to Viru and Solaris shopping centres
Riding a bike or an e-scooter in Tallinn: good to know
Bikes
- When crossing the road, do not go faster than a normal walking speed.
- If you are under the age of 16, you have to wear a bicycle helmet. The rule also applies to kids in bike seats and trailers.
- You can ride your bicycle on the sidewalk if you are under the age of 13, accompanying a cycling child (maximum two adults per kid), or driving a toddler in a bike seat. Otherwise, please use the designated bike lanes and roads.
- Kids are allowed to cycle on the carriageway from the age of eight (with adult supervision only). Ten- to 15-year-olds can ride independently but require a cyclist permit for driving on roads intended for car traffic.
