Memorial to the Victims of Communism

The Memorial to the Victims of Communism is dedicated to all those who suffered under the communist terror regime and were murdered, imprisoned, or deported between 1940 and 1991.

The memorial has two parts:

  • The somber “Journey” with the nameplates of the deceased and memorial for victims with an unknown fate.
  • The “Home Garden” with apple trees, where dreams, happier memories, and homesickness intertwine.

The memorial includes thematic information boards and a memorial to Estonian officers who fell victim to the occupation authorities. The virtual e-memorial collects data on more than 75,000 people who suffered through the Red Terror.
