Dating back to 1407, the late-Gothic Great Guild Hall is one of the most impressive medieval buildings in Old Town. The guild's members were the richest merchants in the city, and through the centuries the building has been used for feasts, weddings, court hearings and theatre performances. Today it houses the Estonian History Museum, whose permanent exhibition covers 11,000 years of Estonia's past. The venue's main hall, as well as its smaller cellar rooms and courtyard, can be booked for events.
